The Truth About Truth Cloud

By Kari Rios

What's this "Truth Cloud thing?" I'm sure you've wondered.

Allow me to introduce you to our cause.

The Commission

The Commission is simple. We all know it. And it starts with a single word: GO.

"Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every Creature." That’s what Jesus said. But when you pause to reflect, sometimes we’re not doing so great at fulfilling the great commission. We live in an age of passive evangelism and our prayers often seem to be "God if you would just open a door, then I would go. If you bring them, I will teach them. If they ask a question, I will answer." But let’s talk straight. Christ didn’t call the lost to Google a church. He called the church to GO and to seek, and to preach and to compel those lost souls to come in.

The Mission

When I think of our modern, technology-saturated world, I can’t help but be amazed at the incredible opportunities presented to the church. The world is literally at our fingertips.

It can be easy to stand back and point out all the problems and challenges technology throws our way. (And believe me, being involved in youth ministry, I’ve got my own list a mile long.) But I think its time we stop viewing the internet as our worst enemy and start finding ways to turn it into a win. If God be for us, who or WHAT can stand against us. Surely God has devised a plan to work this technology thing out for the good.

It seems unlikely, maybe even impossible, that Christians could affect change in a culture as vast, diverse, (and usually as ungodly), as the internet creates. But I think the church should adopt Paul's no nonsense approach to impossibility with a  “none of these things move me" attitude. Instead of being intimidated by impossibilities we should see them as challenges to be accepted and a chances for the miraculous to happen. I remain a firm believer in the Scripture that says “the things which are impossible with men, are possible with God.” I think it's possible, and should be a priority, for us to affect change in the culture that has most captivated our society. I think it’s possible to evangelize ONLINE. I think it’s possible to connect lost souls to Bible Studies, ministers, and churches through ONLINE conversations and content. I think it's possible for us to encourage and sharpen fellow believers ONLINE. And now more than ever, we need to be the CHURCH, a unified, spirit-filled, culture changing force, ONLINE. I'm convinced the Lord can take this dirty mess that is online culture and turn it into a miracle of revival. After all what better place to plant seeds than in the dirt.

Overwhelming? Sure. But in my many moments of doubt my mind always comes back to Paul. And I’m faced with this question: “How would the Apostle Paul have used the tools and advantages we have at our disposal to further the kingdom?”

Paul was not overwhelmed by the enormity of his call to reach the Gentile world. He simply picked up his pen, packed his bags, and began to preach.  One city, one church, one soul at a time. Today we don’t even have to pick up a pen or pack a bag.We can sit down at a computer and preach or post messages that have the potential to reach every corner of the globe.

The world has never been more accessible. The door has NEVER been more open to put truth in people hands, on their screens, and God willing, in their hearts. Paul was a pioneer of evangelism. He created a culture of evangelism that mobilized the gospel far beyond his personal reach.

Your Mission, Should you choose to accept it.

This is what I propose our culture needs. But taking another cue from Paul, its best not to go this road alone. I believe through Truth Cloud, and other similar Apostolic ministries, we can create a share culture of Biblical TRUTH online. We can bring a wind of change to online culture, that, like on the day of Pentecost, can empower us to reach far beyond our personal circle of influence. If you see a post that glorifies God: SHARE IT! If you see a post that promotes truth, SHARE IT. If God puts a word on your heart, SHARE IT. Its high time we wake up out of our entertainment induced comas, throw intimidation and procrastination out the window, and start practicing fearless faith in the face of a faithless world. Philippians 4:8 says  “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think  [POST, PREACH, SHARE, STREAM, BLOG] on these things. At Truth Cloud this is our passion turned mission. And we hope for it to become your mission too, should you choose to accept it.

We have an opportunity to reach virtually every household in the world with the LOVE and TRUTH of God. You can become a catalyst for revival on a global scale. You can do it today. And you can use that iphone you're holding in your hand.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying online evangelism is a substitute for a good old fashion face to face door knocking and Bible studies. But I believe its a harvest field in desperate need of laborers. If they won't answer their doors, we know they'll check their inboxes and scroll their feeds & we should be there with truth when they do.

If we want that "greater things shall ye do"  kind of revival it will come through being intentional and committing our actions to truth. If you have an online presence (all hands should be raised) I challenge you to become INTENTIONAL about making it an APOSTOLIC one. In hundreds of years of church history, not once did revival ever happen by chance. Time and time again God sends revival to people who are hungry, willing to do what ever it takes, and ok with looking a little crazy in the process. (All hands still raised? You guys got this!) The Truth Cloud team believes that your online conduct and content really can make a difference. We are here to serve you and supply you with content that empowers you to GO (online or off), with truth, into every corner of the world.

We invite you to join our mission, let it become your passion, and prepare to be amazed at what God will do.
